About HelMSIC
HelMSIC - Hellenic Medical Students' International Committee, is an independent society, non-profitable and non-governmental, founded in 1958 from medical students with the main goal to sensitize and activation of medical students to subjects concerning:
- Public Health
- Medical Education
- Health Care of refugees and vulnerable social groups
- Establishment of global peace
- Prevention against sexually transmitted diseases, such as AIDS
- Exchanges of medical students of clinical and laboratorial character
Our goals are being achieved through various actions, often in cooperation with other NGOs and include organisation of daylong seminars and speeches with medical content, researches, health-promotion programs, programs aiming in providing information to medical students about residencies and medical education, exchanges of medical students, volunteer-blood-donation days, social care activities, collection of humanitarian aid, providing informative leaflets about UNICEF and other NGOs, as well as activities to sensitize to and provide information to the public about public health issues.
At the same time, HelMSIC represents Greek medical students in International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA) and European Medical Student's Association (EMSA), with a dynamic and actual presence in all their meetings and activities as well as their EBs.
